In addition to appearing at festivals such as “FreedomSunset,” “Ringo Music Festival,” and “Love Parade Mexico” as a DJ and music selector, in recent years selecting background music for the Shibuya Ward Office, arranging chill-out music for Square Enix’s “Nie R Re[in]carnation”, and participated in an album, Yuki Kawamura is also known for her participation in the album, providing music for the open-world RPG “Cyberpunk 2077,” and producing the warm-up bar “Shibuya Oiran,” which celebrated its 12th anniversary this year.
In the midst of the Corona disaster, she resumed DTM and started releasing music under her own name. At the end of last April, she released her first song “Chakra” under Yuki Kawamura’s name, followed by the mindfulness-inspired song “mallow blue” in June, and in July, “R.I.P. Sunset Sunset” was released in July.
“R.I.P. Sunset” was released by Kawamura herself, is dedicated to the DJ she most admired, Jose Padilla who passed away suddenly in 2020. Jose was a pioneer of the “Balearic” music movement from Ibiza, and the compiler of a CD series about the chill-out music mecca “Cafe Del Mar”.
To celebrate the first anniversary of its release, “R.I.P. Sunset Amps Remix” featuring Mr. Amps of TREKKIE TRAX, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, will be released on August 12, 2022 by OIRAN MUSIC on each subscription service.
This work is Amps’s remix of the peak of the Dutch Trance, Euro Trance, Epic Trance, and Progressive House trends from 1999 to the millennium, as well as the legendary “Sound Collection” parties held at Shinjuku CODE and Korakuen Geopolis, where Yuki Kawamura produced events under the name VENUS FLY TRAPP. In the midst of reminiscing about the time when SystemF, Tiesto, Hybrid and others were invited, the EP was born spontaneously as two versions of Balearic dance tunes and organic minimal tunes.
