Yuki Kawamura, active as a DJ/selector/producer, has digitally released her new song “Ra” (OIRAN MUSIC) on December 11th on various subscription services.
Kawamura is known for her appearances at festivals such as “Ringo Music Festival” and “Love Parade Mexico”, selecting music for the Shibuya City Office’s in-house BGM, providing music for the open-world RPG “Cyberpunk 2077”, and managing the warm-up bar “Shibuya Oiran”.
Kawamura resumed her music production activities under her own name after a 20-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and released the ambient work “R.I.P. Sunset” dedicated to the late Jose Padilla, a legend of Ibiza and her master as a Balearic style DJ.
Since then, she has steadily expanded her activities as an artist, releasing remix versions by cutting-edge creators such as Amps of TREKKIE TRAX, KH & The LASTTRAK, and Hiroshi Watanabe, and participating as a remixer in Square Enix’s popular title “NieR Re[in]carnation Chillout Arrangement Tracks”.
This work was created with inspiration from the legendary space music creator, avant-garde free jazz artist, and legend known for the movie “Space Is the Place”, Sun Ra, who celebrated his 110th birthday this year. With guest musicians Watusi of COLDFEET (Bass), George Kano (Drums, Others), Taichi Tsuji aka House Violence as engineer (Edit, Mix, Mastering), and Minami Taga for the artwork, this is Kawamura’s first dance track released under her own name.
Having already received positive feedback from Red Axes, a DJ & creator unit developing worldwide activities from Tel Aviv, this killer track is expected to make waves in the future.
