Yuki Kawamura, a DJ, selector, and producer known for her appearances at festivals such as “Ringo music Festival” and “Love Parade Mexico,” the selection of BGM for the Shibuya Ward Office, the provision of music for the open-world RPG “Cyberpunk 2077,” and the operation of the warm-up bar “Shibuya Oiran,” has resumed her music production activities under her own name after about 20 years, starting with the Corona disaster.
As a trigger, she released her previous work “R.I.P. Sunset,” dedicated to her mentor and Ibiza legend, the late Jose Padilla, who was a Balearic style DJ. After that, she has steadily expanded her activities as an artist, releasing remix versions by up-and-coming creators such as Amps of TREKKIE TRAX, KH & The LASTTRAK, and House Violence, and participating as a remixer in the popular Square Enix title “NieR Re[in]carnation Chillout Arrangement Tracks.”
Her new song “Dawn” (OIRAN MUSIC), which will be her first release in 2024, will be released on all subscription services on February 7th.
This work is a ethereal ambient track inspired by the beautiful moment of dawn, created after Balearic DJ sessions on private beaches in Bali and Lombok Island, which she visited at the invitation of DJ John Sa Trincha, known for the movie “Dancing with the Sun Born Balearic.” It is a sequel to the previous work “R.I.P. Sunset” and will be the lead single from her 1st album scheduled to be released within the year.
The mixing and mastering was done by House Violence, a creator who has released many works from Plastik People (USA) and House Cookin’ Records (Belgium). The artwork was designed by artist Mako Principal a.k.a. Masako Watanabe, using snapshots of Bali taken by Yukiko Kawamura herself. In addition, a movie that overlaps “Dawn” with the scene of sunrise shot at a fixed point at the villa of the resort “Karma Kandara” in Uluwatu, Bali, which she visited for a DJ performance last Christmas season, is being simultaneously released on the shibuya OIRAN Youtube account.
